First Visit Brief Paperwork Upon entering the office, we have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself your condition and your quality of life goals (ie. "I would like to be able to bicycle again"). Consultation Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with the doctor to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential care options. History & Examination In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of specialized tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent. X-ray Studies Your specific condition may require us to refer you for x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective care plan for you. Schedule Your Second Appointment Once finished with the examination and all appropriate studies you will be given a convenient appointment time for your follow-up visit. Generally speaking, patients are seen within 1-2 days and are provided with a complete report of findings. Care options for your condition will be discussed during this time. First Adjustment Once finished with the report of findings and a decision to begin care is made, patients will be provided with their first adjustment. This may include painless gentle pressure, the use of an activator instrument, or more firm pressure by hand depending on a persons needs. Home Instructions Prior to leaving, patients will be given instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. This may include ice or heat application instructions, avoidance of certain activities or positions, as well as home exercises and/or stretches. Schedule Your Plan You will be instructed to schedule appointments for the length of the care program you choose. You will also be scheduled for the New Patient Orientation Class, designed to give you the information you need to make informed health care choices for today! Congratulations! At this point you have made a commitment to your health and it will pay big dividends over the coming years! |
